    george: what is the "tko"

I have used the ko as well as the rpc, but what is the true knockout? and how is it different than the ko? Thanks for any info.

This is simply the KO count true-counted. The easiest way to do this is use the formula -4 x #decks to determine the IRC, and then divide the running count by the number of unseen deck as with a balanced count. A set of true-count indices will also be needed. Sims have shown that this will out-perform most level one balanced counts, albeit by a relatively small margin.

Of course, the whole reason for KO in the first place is its simplicity. True counting, adding additional indices, side counts, etc., all are at cross-purposes with that.

Human nature, I guess. The count is based on simplicity, so the first thing people want to do is make it more complicated. ;-)
