Of Rats and Men: Oscar Goodman?s Life From Mob Mouthpiece to Mayor of Las Vegas (2003) by Review-Journal columnist John L. Smith just came out last week, and is literally flying off the shelves at local bookstores. It does just what the title tells, covering Goodman's life as a defense attorney for the mob, including Meyer Lansky, Anthony Spilotro, and Frank Rosenthal (just to name a few), for over 35 years to his current gig as twice-elected mayor of Sin City. The writing is fluid, the story compelling (at least, what I?ve read so far!), and it promises to be another fine book from the man who has written excellent books on the Ted Binion murder trial, Steve Wynn, and Bob Stupak. We are currently offering this book at 20% off the regular $25.95 price!

FYI, I went to the book signing the other day, and it was a ?mob?house!

For those of you interested in poker, we have added John Vorhaus? (2002) and Killer Poker Online: Crushing the Internet Game (2003). Neither of these books is for beginners; they assume that you already know the basics and that you know what you are doing. John?s writing is witty, easy to follow, and gets to the heart of the matter at hand. There?s some good stuff in these books on the psychology of the game and self-awareness that is bound to help players at any level of skill. Killer Poker Online goes even further, explaining how to thwart online cheaters and pick up online tells! You can read more about these books, just $14.95 each, in our online catalog.

Enjoy!
