J Morgan: My apologies to Mr. Blackwood

You're right. "Moron" was a rude word, inaccurate and hotheaded. I'm sorry.

I do, however, stick by all of my criticisms of your review. Despite your long experience, which I do believe, I think there are areas in which you are misinformed or ignorant--such as the operations of a steering crew. Or the apparently "fast and loose" operations of some teams. Carrying of massive amounts of cash, for example, can and does occur with large teams, yet is something that several readers of BDTH have found unbelievable. Have you read the interview with Johnny C. in BJF? He's got over $150K lying around his apartment that he didn't know about! Unbelievable to many counters, but true. Here's a guy with a degree from MIT--how can he be so absent-minded?? You wanna know why? Because he's a moron. :-)

[How are your book sales, by the way? It's a narrow market.]

James, I appreciate the apology. Actually you raised some fair questions, as my original book review I posted on BJ21 was not clear on a few of my points. I totally agree with you on the sums of cash and how a lot of money to one is pocket change to another. It's just the way it's written in BDTH. In some cases they are given bags of money and told to open them in the bathroom and there's several hundred grand. With any large amounts like that, you'd think it would be counted with two people present to make sure there were no discrepancies.

I also agree with you on Gambling Wizards. One of my best friends from BJ is the Cornell grad who is mentioned in the Chip Reese chapter. His baseball picks have netted winnings of over 20 million which makes any BJ pro look like a pauper.

So now you're implying ignorance. Bottom line is dont believe everything you read from books. Many feel that Bringing Down The House is a juiced up book. I'm one of them. You are having a problem with this. Well, for that matter anything is possible, even a book or movie of Hollywood. The movie "Casino" is supossedly based on the Mafia's controll of Vegas and the deviant acts they executed. I guess it is possible some poor guy got his head put in a vice untill his eyes popped out...anything is possible.

Curious as I may be myself, it's impolitic to ask a professional player about his/her aliases. Just part of the game.

Jimmy: Alias? 90% of the readers know the other name. *NM*
