    Rhetorich: 10% toke?

It *is* an appropriate tip for dealers who stomp their feet or yell "Oh, Boy" after checking their hole card.

Moose: Tip what you like, but remember..

.. that if you are trying to beat the game of blackjack, many dealers are unhappy unless you tip them at such a rate that you will not be able to beat the game any longer.

Sorry fto all you dealers out there, and I'm not saying all of you are like that, but I'm just reporting on what I've seen, but then again, I had played a lot at the Horseshoe, so that may have skewed things.

it really is true.if you play black, you could afford to tip dollars but they wont be happy.they will look at you like your cheap.they want 5 dollar tips to be happy.if you bet green you really cant afford dollars.more like 50 cent pieces.besides its all split between 200 dealers so who cares.

Casino Dealer: Why you should tip the dealer

    Reasons you should tip dealers
1 All dealers are making min. wages,
    2. You won't get back off.
    3. Most knowledgeable dealers can help you win.
    4. If you are too cheap then you should not gamble at all.
So tip dealers as much as possible.

Yes and no. True, the salary isn't much, but most casinos require dealers to pool tips. In the bigger casinos this can amount to a nice chunk of change.

    > 2. You won't get back off.

You're in fantasyland here. Being nice to everyone and toking dealers may buy an advantage player a little time, but it certainly will not prevent a back-off.

    > 3. Most knowledgeable dealers can help you

The only thing you can legally do to help us win is give us better penetration, and that is usually limited by house policy.

    > 4. If you are too cheap then you should not
    > gamble at all.

Being cheap has nothing to do with it. We are in the casino to make money, not "gamble." Our edge is small. We may win big in one session, only to give it back in the next.

Furthermore, if we tip what we can actually afford, it is usually not enough to make you guys happy. So many of us don't bother.

badgames=badtips: Re: Why you should tip the dealer

tell your boss to bring back the good games, then the good tips will return
in the meantime, you should be ashamed to collect tips on the games you are dealing, you should return them all and apologize to the poor players you are ripping off, especially the 6-5 games where you should be tiping the players
