    Richard: 4 spots

I would like to know, how I calculate the SD/round
if playing four spots. I can supply a SD/hand of 1.15. So what will be the SD, when playing 250 rounds, 4 spots each round(1000 hands)?

    Thanks in advance

From p. 142 of Griffin, if n is the number of simultaneous hands, then the variance, V, when one unit is bet at each of n spots is:

    V(n) = 1.26n + .50n(n-1).

Since you want to use SD = 1.15, replace 1.26 with 1.15^2, or 1.32.

    So, for four hands, V = 1.32(4) +.50(4)(3) = 11.28.

SD for one round is the square root of variance. So, SD for one round is 11.28^.5 = 3.36 units.

    For 250 rounds SD is 3.36 x 250^.5 = 53 units.
