Norm Wattenberger: CVData V2 with CVIndex is available
CVData V2 will begin shipment this weekend. Included is CVIndex, a new index generator with many unique features. Also, a free upgrade to CVBJ is available to allow access to the generated strategies. For more info, see CVData Announcement.

Norm Wattenberger: Rust never sleeps
Appears pretty clear that the casinos will continue to treat anyone that wins as the enemy and will increasingly use technology against advantage play. We have been unfortunate that the casinos don?t see that a small number of winners don?t serve their ultimate ends. We have been fortunate that they have been slow to embrace technology. But, we cannot be idle. We must always stay a step or two ahead. As Neil Young said "Rust never sleeps." Let our tools not rust.
Best,

CVCX 2.0? CVBJ 4.0? Something else?

Norm Wattenberger: CV Futures
It?s a fair question ? but one I generally don?t like to answer. Partly because I switch courses a lot. Partly because my GF is getting pissed I?m taking off all this time developing BJ software instead of making money But I?ll make some guesses. All the CV BJ products have been reconstructed over the last year using modern development tools. This makes modification much easier. CVBJ will see some minor incremental changes but no release this year. They will be no charge updates. I have a couple of features I want to put into CVCX and may create a new version. It will be a very cheap or free upgrade. CVShuffle will depend on feedback. There is a very delicate balance in ST software. How do you make software that is useful to players but not to casinos. I?ve had many discussions on this and will continue to find methods of improving CVShuffle without damaging the concept. But, it?s tricky. Two major updates are planned for CVData. I still believe there is much to investigate. Just recently I discovered some things about indexes I?ve never before heard about and will probably talk about them on Don?s Domain when folks return from vacation. I am also considering two new BJ products, but am not ready to talk about them.
BUT while the new BJ products settle in; for the next eight weeks I will be working on Video Poker software. The current products in that field are, quite frankly, lacking. I expect to have a test version out in several weeks.
Thanks for asking,

T-Hopper: Any multiparameter support? *NM*

Norm Wattenberger: Re: Any multiparameter support?
I didn't bother since no one asked. I'll add it when I get a request. Since CVData and CVBJ both support MP tables, should be easy to fit in. Might be possible now for someone to use it for MP tables as you can modify the deck. Gotta save something for the next release

Hi Norm... Incredible job!! If I could add one item to the wish list, I'd like to see the option to re-count the same deck in CVDrills. 90%+ of the time, I'm right on. But when I'm not, I have no way of knowing whether I made a simple mistake trying to press for a faster time or, perhaps (albeit highly unlikely) , there are certain infrequent card combinations that somehow trip me up.
Nit pick? Yes. But you've done such a good job, there are only small things left to talk about.

Norm Wattenberger: Re: CV Futures
Neat idea. I'll add it to the list.
