Theef: In search of AUTHORITATIVE indices
I've owned Professional Blackjack Analyzer for some time. I'm starting to have concerns about the accuracy of its strategy generator. For instance, its 1D H17 basic strategy differs from that found on blackjackinfo.com, and many of its indices are off by one from the indices given in Don's BJA and/or Wong's PBJ.
Does anyone have an opinion as to whether one of the above is the most trustworthy source? Also, I see that BJRM is highly touted. Is it better than all the above? Can I buy it and rest assured I have an authoritative answer?
Thanks (in advance) for the insight -

The Sept 1991 edition of BJ Forum (re: High-Low Lite or Casino Player Article by Arnold Snyder (April 1998) may provide the insight you are looking for.

Don Schlesinger: Re: In search of AUTHORITATIVE indices
Indices can differ by one for several reasons, the most common of which is the method used for generating those indices. At different times, different authors and software use different approaches: rounding, truncating, or flooring.
Don't worry about getting the most "authoritative" indices, because "authoritative" turns out to be somewhat of a relative term.
You can trust the indices generated by SBA, and you can trust the indices you'll find in BJRM, because they were determined by using SBA!

bigplayer: In other words
Arnold Snyder proved that being exact with every index should be very low on your list of priorities.
