    Some may find this interesting.

you can sometimes recover a large lost bet by lowering the amount, rather than increasing the amount bet.

Example: A $500 loss followed by a $475 bet, that if won has, effectively, recovered the loss less $25.

Following up this bet with $450 or lower will, if won, shows a profit of $425 or $25 if you dropped down to a $50 bet.

Some players might want to try it, if they tend to steam after losing a large bet. It also has you lowering your bet if you happen to be in a losing streak, as opposed to increasing your bet to recover a large losing bet.

Whether you won or lost the last hand should have no bearing whatsoever on your bet size.

Your bet size should be based on the level of your advantage.

Except when you bet $500 and lose, then bet $475 and also lose, then you've lost $975. What is your point? If you bet $500 and lose and then bet $500 again and win you've lost $0.

    This is TRULY pointless.

It sounds like the O.P. has fallen down the rabbit hole and landed in Voodoo BJ Land.

I'm a progression player, knowing full well the benefits of counting, because my focus is on winning against other casino games besides blackjack.

In my endeavor if I come accross anything that might have some application to counting, I will put it out there.
    Another example:
Good record keeping of your sessions is important. By including a column called ( theoretical expected outcome), will give you feedback as to being ahead or behind your expected outcome, when you compare your actual sessions outcome against the theoretical running balance. If you are getting far ahead of the theoretical, you may want to lower your bet ramp.

Date, Hours played,Bet range,Hands played,Hands played to date,Units won/lost,Running bal.Units won/lost, Theoretical Bal., Difference between actual and theory,Dollar balance to date.

And thus, makes me wonder why you experienced gentlemen (AussiePlayer, bigplayer and Flash) would even respond to a post in this subsection.

Whether you win or lose has nothing to do with where you are versus your theoretical. If you have won enough you might raise your betting ramp due to a higher bankroll. If you lose enough you may lower it due to a smaller BR. This is ROR concerns not expectation of the future balancing the past or past trends continuing. You need to learn about the Gambler's Fallacy. Look it up.

Falling Star, in all fairness, don't you think you should post the many and various handles you've used over the past decade? It would save a lot of time.
