Moose: First winning blackjack session in 7 months!

Last night my friends and I dodged the summer heat and hung around the house, playing various board and card games and having a good old time, so when it was all said and done, I found myself with only a bit of time to visit an old enemy, one of the casinos I used to work at.

As soon as I come in, I spy one of my old friends, at first a dealer like me but now he's a higher-up. The first words out of his mouth: "Haven't they thrown you out yet?"

Well, nothing like a warm welcome back. We talk about the virtual pogrom this casino is undertaking, and he's basically said that the casino's mentality is that if you're a counter, we don't want your action at all, we can't have guys taking $1k a day out of the place and so forth.

Of course, I try to explain that the average win per day of counters is still rather small, and that those $1k wins are offset by big losses, but the casino doesn't think about that cause "they should win all the time". He shrugs and goes on his way.

Well, the place was packed, but in 1/2 an hour, I did get some nice wonging in, just to get my feet wet. I wound up $137 for the day, with a max bet of 2x$30, that's pretty good. I think I've gotten over the O'Lucky curse because I got dealt an 11 vs a 6 with a max bet out and thought "GREAT!" instead of "Oh shit, there goes two max bets".

Not wanting to get anywhere near the magical $1k mark, out the door I went It was good to taste a little positive variance (since I probably only 'earned' about $10-$15).

Thanks to all for your support, and hopefully I'll be emailing you guys in a couple months to meet at Starbucks at the Golden Nugget for whatever that coffee Slurpee with whipped cream and caramel is called.

.. today, I got another hour of wonging in and dropped a whopping $31, but scored big in the poker game after.

Yes, when I get back to Vegas, I will put to death anyone who shows me that Fat Green Bastard keychain.
