    hawk: what type of cheating

Can you be more specific about the type of cheating and the casino name. A friend of mine was tricked at the casino of Coral Costa Caribe in Juan Dolio DR. He used a credit card at the cashier the charged ?X? amount in pesos and they paid him in pesos but when the bill came they had charged him in Dollars which was a much larger amount.

john brahms: Re: Cheating casinos I came across

Hey BJ Traveller, I got cheated at Hotel Sorak Park, too. They set up the shoe with the shuffle of new cards.

Unbelievably, I did not lose my money fast enough for them. They tried to short-pay my cashout at the cage as well.

The other place I was cheated at in Korea, in Itaewon, Seoul, is now thankfully closed. They dealt seconds from a shoe. Beware of a shoe that seems too tall!

I, too, would appreciate a clarification as to which casino and what type of cheating - at least half of the casinos in Santo Domingo are on the waterfront. If you don't want to disclose it on a public board, please email me at [email protected], and I'll be happy to share with you other info on various Caribbean casinos.

Francis Salmon: Sorry for the delay

I haven't checked this site for a while.
The whole thing happened 10 years ago and I cannot remember the name of that casino (never went back to the Carribean since!).I suspected them of dealing seconds. This sounds unlikely for shoe games because peeking is not possible but when I sat in the plane back to Europe I had a flash how it could be done:The cards could have been marked with pins!
I had been winning heavily first but lost it all back within a few days. They always brought in the same dealer and she kept converting her stiffs into excellent scores.
Nowadays,I'm not so sure anymore that I was really cheated. The thing happened in the early years of my career when I thought it was impossible to have such a streak of bad luck but since then I have had similar sessions of horror in places where cheating was totally out of question.
They could have brought in the "knock-out-dealer" by pure superstition because she was known to have a lucky hand.
But a serious doubt still remains.

    Thanks for the reply.

I have had very bad results at one particular casino in Santo Domingo that offers what appears to be an attractive game (good pen, rules). I suspect that it is just the usual bad variance, but I am certainly sensitive to any reports of cheating there.
