Shark: This board doesn't protect foreign players

I know the subject of this message is harsh but I can't stay quiet about it any longer. A while back somebody posted game conditions of a superb promo that took place in the USA ( a BJ pays 2to1 or another of this hard to find nuggets). The post was busted within hours by the moderator (Parker). Parker explained that it was taken off the board in order to protect the interests of the AP community at large.

Parker thought that leaving the post on the board would shorten the lifespan of the promo and wanted to protect those in the know of the promo.

Parker doesn't play overseas so he doesn't extend same courtesy to foreign players. For months we have to put up with Chucky blowing the whistle on any half decent game in Europe and around.

Chucky's bypass moderation status should have been discontinued a long time ago. His only contributions to this board are by ruining opportunities and insulting established posters ( Orson comes to mind)

I wonder how long this post would stay. Shark

There is nothing wrong with your post. Quite the contrary, it is most helpful to me. I readily confess to being ignorant of overseas playing conditions.

Because of this, it is difficult for me to judge just what information is too sensitive for an open board. Input from regular overseas players such as yourself is always most helpful and welcome in this area.

This message board was created for the convenience of overseas players such as yourself. I need your help in order to make it work.

"Chucky" does not have bypass moderation status. Many of his posts never make the board. If you feel that I am still being too permissive (and obviously you do), then this is something that I need to know.

Again, your input is most appreciated.

    shark,
i cant agree with you more..there are some of us out here trying to make a few pitiful pennies to feed a couple of starving kids..
never thought of this idea that "annoying" posts can be busted!!
then again this forum would not be attractive if there are no nuggets once in a while for the general public.parker got a hard job i can appreciate.
(personally i did prefer all revealing posts busted!!)...there are only so few candystores out there..its a tight community of say 100 readers here?
..and i could reveal easily 10 good places i have been barred and of no use to me personally ..but that means friends in future will not be willing to reveal new info to me as they will form the opinion that i dont protect these joints for others once i burn them.get the point?

Of course not as chucky, but I use other identities, too. You are very familiar with me for example .
Maybe I should open an own board, it costs about 1$ per month :=). I am sure that it will be read, too. Nobody wants to be the only player that does not know my posts :-).
Everyone likes to know my info, but nobody likes to share it, thats the problem :-).

Shark: Re: This board doesn't protect foreign players

I was one of those who asked to create an international scene board before this site created this forum for us.

I agree with Chance King below that it is very hard to set the lines what is OK to post and what is not, and still keep the forum valuable.

If I were to set the guidelines games with off the top player advantage could be discussed as long as the location is withheld. Players can exchange additional info privately without the preying eyes of casino consultants/ card counter hunters.

Those games have been for long time in the endangered species category. Let's not make them extinct so new AP's would get an opportunity to experience them as well.

Thanks, Parker for allowing this post. I considered emailing you privately but thought that it would gain more weight with the support of other reputable posters of this forum. Shark

perhaps parker could screen the more sensitive information coimg into this forum, have some way of confirming the quality of the information by some of the more established posters on this forum like shark, chance, bjt,or orson .

such info could then be auctioned off like on ebay-style to a highest bidder of a circle of confirmed established posters/?...perhaps someone else could polish up with a better refinement on this rough suggestion?

still even hardline regimes like iran,n korea have a hard time keeping a reign on the flow/power of knowledge, never mind a bj website i guess.
