Geoff Hall: Phillipines
Does anyone know if the casinos in the Phillipines are reputable ?
I understand that they are run by PAGCOR - is this an organisation that can be trusted to do business with ?
Thanks

Philippines Amusement and Gaming Corporation is a government owned corporation. I bet you can sleep well doing business with them.
The BJ in their casinos was good but so so now.

Thanks Chance
The foot massage sounds interesting :-)
You guessed right, they are interested in installing 'BJ Switch' but it seems that rather than charging rental you get a share of the profits. Sounds good except you have to pay for losses as well as wins and although I'm confident that the game will make an overall profit I have to rely on truthful figures being relayed to me. Hence the question as to whether PAGCOR is an honest organisation to work with.
Looks like I may have to make a trip over there as the Chairman of PAGCOR wants to meet up with me - I'll look out for Burgos Street and 'Thanks' for the tips. Problem is finding the time to fit the visit in with a lot of other things going on - oh well, keeps me out of trouble :-)
Best regards

Do not trust PAGCOR. Corruption is ingrained in the Philippine culture from the police to the President(look at the last prez. Erap). There would be too many layers between you and your money.
Push for the rentals.
I also asked a few Pinoys if they would trust PAGCOR and they all said no.

Thanks JackBlack
It really is quite a conundrum - if I take a profit share then the potential to receive a lot of rental money is huge. However, I would need to trust that the operation is legit.
Taking a set rental fee would result in a far lower profit but may be the sensible direction as this ivolves no risk from my company.
The govenment people that I speak to over there seem very plausible but I still have alarm bells ringing due to the comments made about PAGCOR.
I have until April to decide which route to take (if any) but I have to admit that the safer route, involving no prior investment, seems to be the better alternative.
Best regards
Geoff
