So as my first year comes to a close (well I started in late may 2012 but took 3 months off right when I started cause I could tell I wasn't ready so basically I started in September). Since May I have played 450 hours part time. The first 170 hours were break even and the lowest point I hit was down 30k. Since October I started introducing some more ap methods. I basically started off playing mid black right off the bat which was a big mistake. I got a lot of heat and its hard for me to play in my local stores because of my early mistakes. Because of that I have been traveling a lot more and really like that part of it. I get to see the country and actually make money at it as well. I find that very satisfying (although im sure it will get old) . I am single with no family and fairly young so I find traveling exciting. I have now decided to put the counting on the back burner because most of my heat (if not all) has come from counting I am re assessing the years results and I have make about 130k in my first year from AP. The last 6 months of my play I have really taken it very seriously with massive amounts of scouting. I could def see myself doing this fulltime in the future as I like this line of work much much more than my current line of work but I am not foolish enough to leave my current position till I have at least 3 more years of experience under my belt. When I first started posting on this site I told everyone I would give updates so as my first year closes I wanted to give a brief update..
Thanks everyone for the support and encouragement throughout the year. There are a lot of newbies on this site but there are some pro's and that's frequent this board as well. My best advice is to players newer than myself is to stay humble, not be too aggressive with these senior members (cause they really gain nothing by helping you), and remember a thank you goes along way.
