    Blackjack Life

Just a quick comment about NT's Blackjack Life.

I am not a big book reader. Short attention span, low IQ, etc. It's just not my thing to sit and read a book from cover to cover. With non-reference books, I'll wait for the movie.

I have a library full of BJ reference books, the titles that we all have. Most BJ books are similar in nature. Basically reference books with a few personal experiences thrown in. At this point, it is those personal experiences that I am more interested in, more than the reference material and there just aren't a lot of that type around.

Blackjack Life is just such a book, filled with amazing experiences. My only problem with the book was that I purchased it to read on the return flight to Vegas from my current east coast trip. The book arrived at my friends house yesterday and I couldn't put it down and now today, still several days before my return flight, I have already finished it. So, just a shout out to NT....fantastic job, a great read, and a strong recommendation for all to read.

I agree also, I think the book is so good because we have all been there following him from his start of practice, basic strategy, counting etc . We are pulled in as we reminisce about the same steps we went through. Then as we follow him through
his journey we place our self in his shoes and a few of us look to end up at the same level he achieved . I have read the book three times. The only two books(excluding reference material) I have read in the last 15 years was bringing down the house and blackjack life and they were both excellent.

    Also agree.

This book, in addition to letting many reminisce about their own journey, is a wonderful primer for newbies who want to know how it works and what it takes. I have directed many to this read, in fact my copy is out on loan now. It is also well written in a story telling, highly entertaining way.

Can't wait for the movie and the sequel! By the way....any plans for a movie NT21?

    JOB VERY WELL DONE!

Does the rock play the Assassin or the Ninja?

The book is highly entertaining and I can see it might be very inspirational to a niche of players.

Out of curiosity anyone know approx. how many copies this has sold? Under 10,000? Over 100,000? Any ideas?

Yes, I know. Its definitely under 100,000.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. Much appreciated.

Stealth, no plans for a sequel at this time.

I like the idea of a movie if it was fairly authentic like Rounders, than Hollywood, like 21. Anyone have any connections?

So ... yeah, I would say it's ok... D.A. - we need 'Another BJ life' for your perspective!

LOVED this book. As KJ said, I didnt need yet another reference book with BS and Index charts. I really enjoyed the fact that it was about the journey, and the 2-man team play they came up with was inspired.
I am curious, though..from what Ive read here and other places, most APs regard the "MIT guys" seminars as not worth the cost, but NT and DA really seemed to benefit from them. Which is it? IMO, the "MIT guys" can probably TIGHTEN your game, but you can learn everything up to that point on your own with a few books and CV. Ive never been to anything like that, so I may be way off-base here, and I know NT is now running the "Blackjack Science" seminars, so maybe the content is different than when Semyon Dukach was running it?

It is amazing what people decide to do with their lives, in their spare time. Some love guns, and live to shot them over and over again,,, some collect guns and go to gun shows all over the U.S. to buy and sell them,, some live to ride a cycle or race a car, or they live to speak of the Great Spirit to others, some fish or are sports nuts, or history buffs, talk politics,, some dabble in stocks and trading. Still others are movie buffs, or immerse themselves in books or family or even food, drugs and booze. On and on..

Why is it then that we have chosen this very peculiar art form, this great mind exercise we do, the SKILLZ we have honed, Skillz that seemingly when in full application, seem to take us to another existence??

Why do we really desire to subject ourselves to violent swings of bank roll and emotion, putting our very bodies at risk from threats from other players and the very real abuse, threats and intimidation, jailings, from the casinos themselves???

We are a small group indeed, very small, the true AP's, so one has to wonder what really is with us,, because we are very different,,, is what we do good or bad, sane, insane,,, what manner of people are we, I mean really???
