    Insurance and ESA on CVData

Might be a bit of an obscure question :-)

Still, to anyone out there still simulating ESA games: as far as I know CVData allows you to take insurance and than subsequently surrender your hand.
I know of only one store that allows this. I would assume that the impact on game stats (EV, variance etc) is minimal - anyone with any ideas ?

Also, not simmable by CVD - is there any place to look for indices for surrendering, say 18 vs A (decided by the EV of surrendering, -0.5, vs EV of standing + taking insurance). (I suppose I could do this in a roundabout way in CVD - define a few side bets, and check the distribution of the dealer's final hand totals at high counts if the upcard is an Ace...)

According to SBA at all hilo true counts you should not early surrender your 18Vs.A. In Moscow, when they had casinos you could early surrender and insure the same hand. Ploppies were shocked each time pros executed those two options. Looking on standing EV of 18Vs.A it is pretty obvious that you should never early surrender.

Like you, I assumed that EV and variance were not much different and I just took the free gift when needed.
