All the pits are stand on 17, split a/a once and get one card after a/a split.
Double on any two.
Surrender allowed on any two cards.
All 6 decks.
This is true for all bj pits except the 5 dollar pit which hits soft 17.
The cutoff is between 1.5 deck to 2 decks.
This is when I and most people will tell you that you need to find a basic blackjack books and start to read.
All your questions are great, but you're getting into nuances that will require some fundamentals.
As far as I remember that splitting aces is in the basic strategy. There will be very few times that you do not split aces.
Okay, put the phone down. I walked the entire property not 90 minutes ago just for you. That's the Casino of the Earth, Casino of the Sky and Casino of the Wind. Go back read post #9 in this thread. Everything I said there is 100% accurate.
You sound like you've never been to MS. How did you come by a $200 bet and exactly what kind of bet is it? If you happen to get a blackjack with a free bet, it only pays even money. There may be alternatives to using it at blackjack.
Wow thats crazy i called twice today and both times they told me 8 decks and then all the other info you gave me was correct. Thanks for the info. I was at Mohegan sun about a month ago and lost $1500 during the one day I was there. The $200 free bet was apart of the welcome package for signing up for a card and then me losing the money I guess. I read fine print I saw even money and that you can play roulette (black or red) or baccarat I was originally down $750 and then I tried taking out more money but since the ATM limits you I got banged over the head by Mohegan Sun. It cost me $50 to take out $750.
That was the only time I have been to Mohegan Sun. I have only been gambling since 12/2012. I am as beginner as they get.
Penetration tends to be missed by people new to BJ because of the focus on rules and index plays. A good place to feel the effect is in 2D where the extra round or two that you get from an extra quarter deck of penetration provides that extra opportunity in a high count situation. The count fluctuates more in 2D then 6D so getting the extra round(s) and bigger bets out when the count suddenly jumps after a deck has been dealt makes a big difference in EV. Same for 6d, but the count tends to build more gradually and once it increases, it tends to stay high and you get a string of opportunities.
