You can only surrender when you have a ace. Is that common thing?
That must be some bad phone connection in Uncasville.

You can surrender any first two cards. If the dealer has an ace you must wait until he checks for blackjack. If he has blackjack you lose. If he doesn't you are free to play your hand as you see fit including surrender.

OK so I owe you a big apology. You were right about every rule you gave earlier including surrender. Its pretty bad that I was given the wrong information by the casino so many times. Please do not think I was second guessing you I just wanted to make sure I had the right strategy sheet lol!!

So I walked away with my whole trip paid for and $700 of the $1500 I lost about a month ago. I have BS down 100% now. The BJ tables truly have some interesting characters. I watched a guy yelling at an old man ( war vet from his hat) for not playing his cards the right way and effecting the table yet this guy was doubling down when the dealer had a 10 showing. I thought that was kinda of ironic.

The most important thing I wanted to teach myself yesterday was getting up and walking away on good and bad runs. Not chasing bets and trying to bet when I was hot. I lost my first 10 hands and just kept betting the min until I seemed to go on a run. I really enjoyed myself. The casino was not crazy. I had a really nice room for free although they did try and play games when I got there. So now I have to keep reading and improving my skills. I am reading Norms book on top of a few others I bought from borders

I felt terrible this old man was nice and this guy had no reason to flip out on him. He got up and said I will find some where else to play.

I hope at some point you will start learning beyond bs. Playing with few bets to begin with is never a good idea....

I'm glad to hear you had a good trip. As you progress in your studies you'll rethink what you've posted in the second paragraph.

What became of the $200 free bet?

I lost. Of course everytime I wanted to put it down I won but the time I choose as not the right time. I have been reading a couple of different books but still have so much to learn.

Usually people will not start a shoe without at least 8-10 max bets in their pocket. You don't really want the count start going up, and you have no money to play in the good counts.
