    Opening Day, Terre Haute Casino

Today (Friday) was opening day at the Terre Haute Casino Resort in Terre Haute, Indiana. The young mayor gave a speech, and a team of a dozen dignitaries cut the ribbon. The parking lot was absolutely full, and a line of customers wrapped along the front of the building.

Inside was crowded but very manageable. You first meet two pits of table games, a third pit is further in, and the high limits is off to the side.
Unfortunately, most tables (11) were fake blackjack games of 6:5 payout, 8D, H17, and one Free-Bet where dealer 22 is a push. Minimums of $10 and $15 to $1000 max. All unwinnable.

There were sadly only 2 real blackjack tables paying 3:2 for $25 to $2500 on the main floor. Happily they were 6D, but again with H17, no RSA. The dealer said the prices may drop after the opening days.

    High limits had 4 tables, 2 were active: a 6D H17 for $50 to $5000, and a two-deck game for $100 to $3000, still H17 like the general floor.

(Note that high limits down in French Lick are S17, in a truly gorgeous room.)

Getting seats were not impossible, so we played and won accordingly.

    A very good day.

    Cheers, Ole
