Ahh..I remember my martindale days. I actually won for 3 months straight. Then one day I ran into table max. I won and was up 1 unit. :-/ I then "graduated" to a more complex martindale. Instead of doubling after every loss, I doubled after the 2nd loss and then 5x unit then 8x unit at which point I went back to the base bet until the losing streak ended. I later ran a cvdata sim on my "final strategy" play and was losing about 10c/hour. I had managed to take some of the house edge out! YAY. But yeah, Martindale...martindale..
