Game error, how much edge was changed?

I ran a home game for fun with friends with a 6 deck shoe but we didn't realize that a 3 and 4 for one of the decks were swapped out of one of the decks for a 7 and 8, and the house wants to reduce the payout due to this edge. How can I calculate or what is the edge for this? It seems pretty small.

It depends on the exact rules, but assuming S17 and DAS, the house edge was decreased by about 0.117%.

You can do this by using the program at link below, changing shoe composition to what you need.
    http://www.bjstrat.net/cgi-bin/cdca.cgi

    1. You can set rules to what you want or just accept the default rules.

    2. You can't get the shoe comp you need by inputting 6 decks because program will not allow more than the max 6 deck comp for any rank so set number of decks to 7.

    3. Remove 4 of each rank {2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A} and 16 of rank {T} by clicking '-' button for each rank or by directly inputting a value.

    4. Shoe comp is now same as 6 full decks. Click 'Compute' button. Value in upper left corner of 'Player Expected Values' is overall EV for 6 full decks.

    5. Remove one more 3 and 4 and add one more 7 and 8. Click 'Compute' button. Value in upper left corner of 'Player Expected Values' is overall EV for the altered shoe comp.

For 6D,S17,DOA,DAS,SPA1,SPL3,NS, and considering only basic strategy play, the decrease in the house edge is a little bit more.
If TD-BS is used, the decrease is about 0.1263%, while for CD-BS, the decrease is about 0.1332%.

    Sincerely,
    Cac
