    Long term winners playing rated

In the past I would never use a card because of trying to hide my identity but I've come to think that it looks very suspicious to not use one now and be rated. I play a pretty small spread and smallish stakes but I play allot of hours and have been playing rated. I try to use cover and look like a typical gambler whenever possible. With that being said, when a blackjack player shows a good win at the end of the year will that not create a problem? I mean are there actually ANY blackjack players that play long hours and have winning years that aren't counters? I'm wondering how the long term rated counters handle this dilemma. I don't think ratholing is viable because of how close they watch every chip they have and that would seem suspicious also.

Hide chips and they won't know you're winning.

I have tried that in the past but they watch the trays very very closely. Also whenever you cash out more than $3000 they ask for ID or card. I will have to work on my ratholing skills.

Just because they watch the tray doesn't necessarily mean ratholing won't work. You can try it and then check your win/loss statement. There's been some serious misinformation spread in the past on this issue that floor supervisors are computers that will automatically catch you ratholing and assign the chips to you. It's usually not true.

That said, if you're the only one playing purple at a $5 minimum game, you're not going to get away with ratholing chips.

Agree with moo. Keep ratholing. Avoid that 3k cash out, take some chips home with you to cash out another day. Long term wins will 100% raise some questions, so do whatever you can to avoid showing up on their system as a long term winner.

I was backed off shortly after a large (relative to where I was playing) lucky ladies pay out years ago. Impossible to rathole in that situation. Believe the backoff came within the next three sessions.

Ratholing is an art. Timing is (almost) everything. The time to rathole chips is when another player arrives at or leaves the table with chips, and you stash a few blacks and greens away before the pit critter comes over to reconcile things. Also. have your chip stack a bit of a mess. Don't keep them in nice neat piles so staff can immediately tell what's there and if something changed.

There's one casino I played for 10 years, until I got tossed, where the year-end statements showed a loss every year, but one, and in reality, I probably took them for about 700K.

I think I was just worried about getting caught ratholing but it really does seem like the only option here. I will work on this. Thanks for the advice folks.

I play light green at best right now and yes I did see the post in the past about not ratholing. I will definitely get back to doing it. Thanks
