    Romanian Casinos

    Hi,

Planning a trip through Europe and wondering about Romania. What is their tax on winnings and is it strictly enforced (i.e. any way around it?). Possible loss rebates? Does shuffle tracking make a difference? How many casinos with blackjack shoes?

Feel free for private email: [email protected]

    Regards,

    Dalmatian

I did a family road trip through the northern areas from Cluj , Sibiu, Brasov maybe a 600 mile loop and saw a number of slot parlors and poker rooms in 2021. I did not see a blackjack table. I did a search at the time and looked like Bucharest was the only place that has the live table games but could not determine if they had shoes. I did see a CSM in the the photos on the website. I have a non AP friend, that visited one Bucharest casino, and it sounded like they had a shoe.

I was in Bucharest in July. Casinos there are depressing and it's all CSM. Dealers are clumsy and inexperienced, so some opportunities might arise if you have good eyes

It was my impression Romania and Bulgaria use to be hidden gems for blackjack with very good rules and many casinos like 10-20 years ago but Romania bringing a tax on winnings kinda killed it.

They say just go scout but the problem with Europe is high trip expenses and not finding anything is definitely a huge drain

I seriously doubt you will encounter any decent games in your intended playing circuit.
