Leaving your wallet in the restaurant - not at casino

Twice, I’ve left money behind, clearly carelessness on my part. The first was in Vegas some years back. Waitress came running down the hall with an overstuffed wallet - approx 17k USD. Gave her $100.

Second was today, 8kCAD. I had left the restaurant, noted the issue and was back within 15 minutes. My server immediately (as she was serving a table) commented - I have it. She went to the back and immediately returned. I gave her $100 - are you sure she said - I said yes.

In both cases, no money was missing. Was the $100 just right, too much ir too little. Curious.

May be a separate question, but valid. No, shame on me - played locally (yesterday) and didn’t unload. Also, the restaurant is one which I frequent probably 1x per month and server in question has been there for awhile and she’s pretty sharp.

Your luck is going to run out one of these days. Stop leaving your wallet places!
I think the $100 was reasonable. After all, this isn't a dealer with unrealistic expectations.

definitely, the fault was mine. No doubt, I made the servers day.

I'm curious to know what kind of wallet would fit $17,000 even if the money was all $100 bills that's still 170 bills!

Perhaps the phrase “overstuffed wallet” might have been an indicator. I suppose I could have included additional descriptive commentary presenting a visual of the bulging wallet unable to close not easily fitting within the confines of my front pants pocket - but then again, I didn’t expect to be challenged. Oh, and yes - $100 denominations

Suggestion: When you're not playing, don't go walking around with $8,000 in your wallet!

My BR is always separate from my wallet. I never touch my wallet in the casino.

Not my wallet, but I once left my credit card at a restaurant. I dine out frequently, and usually pay with a credit card. Well, this time I left before the server returned with my card and the charge slip.

Upon hearing about this incident, a friend told me that after I hand my card to the server, I should keep my wallet in my hand to remind me to await the server's return. This technique has served me well over the years.

    Hope this helps!
