    Our new book

We're pleased to tell you that our book is on the way to the printer and should be ready to ship by mid-January, according to our publisher, Anthony Curtis, at Huntington Press. You can find relevant information at the bottom of page four of their 2022 Holiday Catalog (link below). They're offering a nice 25% discount on the price, so that sounds like a good deal to us. Naturally, should you have any questions, feel free to post them here.

    Happy Holidays!

    Don and Dave (Gronbog)

    Some blurbs for the book:
“What an amazing undertaking! My compliments to both you and Dave for your diligence in accomplishing such a feat. Your introduction and background material provide an excellent description of what the user may expect, with clear instructions on how to use the charts. Accolades for adding to your impressive body of research.”
—Arnold Snyder, charter member of the Blackjack Hall of Fame and noted author

“It appears to have your usual careful and thorough approach.”
—Edward O. Thorp, charter member of the Blackjack Hall of Fame and author of Beat the Dealer

“Congratulations on this new, comprehensive study by you and Dave. It really fills a big theoretical hole in our knowledge of the hierarchy and subtle intricacies of strategic card counting at blackjack, and beyond that it's also an important and very practical resource that all serious players can benefit from in their actual casino play. This new work shows once again, Don, that you are the savant of professional blackjack, with a body of work second to absolutely no one.”
—Bryce Carlson, author of Blackjack for Blood

“There has never before been such a detailed study on strategy indices for Hi-Lo. If you are using Hi-Lo, stop playing immediately and get this book. You will be glad you did.”
—Henry Tamburin, highly respected blackjack authority, author, and internet columnist

Did you have a question about Henry? Have you read the body of his work on Casino888 alone?

No. I've always put him in the same basket with Scoblete.

He's not a mathematician. But he's very accurate in print and nonetheless knows a great deal about the game. He writes well and has an incredible volume of material out there. And, he's one of the "good guys," who doesn't spout nonsense or promote garbage. I consider him a very good personal friend, and have never really seen any unkind words written about him. I would put him in the same category as Ralph Stricker: an extremely decent, hard-working individual with a great deal of practical experience and knowledge about the game. Bob Fisher did all the math for Ralph, who also wasn't a mathematician. But that doesn't make someone a bad person.

    None needed.

Heard from Anthony Curtis today. Possible slight delay with supply-chain issues re the paper we're using at the printer. Always something, these days. Will keep you posted.

It will be around 333 pages of material, not counting the front and back matter (forward, dedications, etc.). Of that 312 pages are charts of data for all the games we examined.
