Do DEALERS really care if you “win a lot”??

It’s been my experience that dealers are human beings, who enjoy being around happy people, and customers who are winning are happy people - more likely to tip.

However, Surveillance and perhaps pit bosses do not like winners, since their job is to protect the casino from…well…winners.

As human beings, dealers do not like rude or obnoxious or irritable people, and if this fits the customer description, they are more likely to report a suspected AP. Personally, call me naive, but I consider the dealer as my potential ally, someone to respect and be nice to, who may be able to provide me material assistance. However, I also do what I can (as long as it does not cost me any money) to present the image of a ploppy, or at perhaps a “recreational gambler”.

Do you think dealers care if you win a lot?

In Vegas they care. Vegas dealers are miserable people and definitely support the house. Elsewhere, it varies. If you win, some dealers see winning and being pleasant as an opportunity to garner more tips (especially in the rare venue where they keep their own and don't pool them). Then, of course, they will be unhappy when you don't share what they see as an equitable share. It's never enough.

Best approach is to bet the side bets for your pasteboard agent. It's a nominal bet but when it hits, the pay off is massive.

Depends on if you're tipping them.

I had a dealer friend who preferred a straight forward tip rather than making it part of the customer’s bet. She was a smart lady and realized that the customer won less than 50% of the time, so on an expected value basis, the straightforward tip was larger. She also realized she had no influence over the cards, and resented when the customers blamed her for their bad luck. And (secretly) rolled her eyes when they gave her credit for good luck.
