    Cashing chips after trespass

    Hello everyone,

I am a relatively new player and in my first year of playing blackjack.

I recently had my first trespass experience:
Casino manager told me that I was being trespassed and I went to the cage to cash my chips. They demanded id for cashing out my chips and when I denied, they refused to cash the chips and returned them. I left the property with the chips since it's advisable to not give up your id after a back-off/trespass.

Considering that I have been trespassed what are my options for cashing these chips at a later time?

So they don't have your name from the trespass itself?
If not, wait a month or more and go back on another shift to cash out. Or, have someone else cash them for you.

I don't think they have my name from the trespass since I didn't give them my ID. I don't know if they looked me up in any databases by face (I have been flyered in another state before but not sure if that got me into the database or not).
Seems good to know that a month's break should be good enough. I can have someone cash them for me but this casino in general seems a bit sweaty, especially for refusal players cashing out more than 1K in cash. I can probably try cashing out in chunks though

If you know the casino's threshold for ID hassles at the cage, definitely break it up into multiple cashing outs to avoid that.
Cavet - probably not the case here, but if you're anywhere near 10K, doing multiple cash outs to avoid ID/CTR is illegal under Federal law.

It is not above 10K. If I go myself I want to cash out quickly and leave without them recognizing me so multiple cashouts might also be undesirable. I want to avoid the prospect of being arrested etc lol. I might probably also have some of it cashed by someone else.

So wait. You were trespassed? But they don’t have your name?

How were you trespassed without providing ID, and signing the acknowledgment to being 86’d to that property & all sister properties? I’ve seen scenarios where people get trespassed based on being unknown player xxx, however, this doesn’t sound like an 86.

It sounds like you were just backed off, and in that case cash your chips on another shift, or have a partner cash them.

I refused to provide ID to them. They just said verbally that they are trespassing me. They didn't ask me to sign anything (I wouldn't have signed it anyways).
I am thinking that if I wait for some time I might just be able to go back and cash out without playing but this being an Indian casino I'm not sure of the risk involved.

I'm quite certain they can trespass you without your consent or signature on a document. If they read you the trespass act, and they capture that on video, they have that as evidence if you ever come back. Now if your appearance changes significantly between the time you were trespassed and when you return, could you successfully claim that it isn't you in the video? Would they want to go to the trouble of trying to prove that it is you, or just trespass you again and send you on your way? Who knows.

I am not sure if they read me the "formal" trespass act or not. Security did mention though that they can call law enforcement if I happen to be seen again at the property in the future and they followed me to ensure that I left the property.
In any case, I'm probably not going to try playing again there. I do want to cash my chips though and that might be possible to do at a different shift and after a substantial amount of time has passed that they have forgotten about me.

A very long time ago I worked in security at a casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Sometimes we just "tossed" people, but if we wanted to formally trespass someone, we pulled out a card all official like with the NRS trespass verbiage on it and made sure we radioed surveillance first to be sure they were recording us reading it to the person so they knew they couldn't come back later and play dumb like they didn't know they were trespassed. If none of that happened to you, I would say you were just backed off and I wouldn't hesitate to come back on another shift and cash your chips. If you were formally trespassed you would know it. I think you're wise not to try to play there again in the future though.

If you left in your car, they have your plate and can get your ID.

I tend to think that this does seem like a soft trespass. It was also my first time at the casino so that might have been the reason. Even though they didn't do any "trespass" formalities they did mention that they were indeed trespassing me several times.

It was a rental car so I don't care much if they did get my plate.
