Another thing I thought about after I read my snide remark post was that I do not believe doing simulations is necessary to being a GIANT winning player in BJ. If $180 is tough to come up with...why spend it or worry even about simulations. By understanding the Casino's rules, penetration, or online tools or publications, you can quickly deduce pretty closely what the house edge is. Here I am a great believer in Don S. Ill 16 + the few other important surrender rules. Then, if you find a 3/2 game at whatever level you can, and play as much as you can. Sure, you might hit a bad streak, but sooner or later the odds will work out and $180 worries will seem like the distance past. I remember when I first started I played with $20 I had borrowed from my girlfriend (now my wife of 40+ years), and played and I was never broke again my life. I was very lucky to get into a good group of BJ and Poker experts....(including the newly reappeared on this Forum Mason Malmuth), Mike Caro, D.Sklansky. and they all helped me Alot, sometimes by making sure I concentrated on the IMPORTANT things. To me, a simulator is not nearly as important as being in the trenches of playing...especially if you need money. The whole point of BJ to me was to make my life such that I did not ever have to worry about money, which I never did once I learned to properly play BJ and poker.
Apologize again, for the rantings of an old man.........
Hi, this is a pretty decent simulation software:
It doesn't hold a candle to CVCX, however it will probably do the trick in the meantime.

Go to the target folder and click on "SimpleSim Hi-Lo.jar" then click download.
You will also need to download Java 8 to run it. Save it on your desktop and open with Java.

Guilty as Charged. I remember staying at the Flamingo, waking up and walking all the way downtown hitting casino after casino. I remember wearing army pants so I had lots of pockets for my cash. Getting comped for things everywhere, never spent a dime on food....could always get a meal voucher from the pit. A kid, playing $25 Min, not something common in 1970's.
lol
Thanks to all who reflected and then posted their thoughts. Norm, I appreciate the apology, and I am sorry for posting the post in the first place. It was most likely inappropriate given you are the owner/operator of this forum. I should have listened to myself and emailed you before posting the post.
