Whatever happened to AP Wonging Protocol

Both in and out of town, if I happen to sit down with an AP both known and friendly with me (we generally have an understanding), I’ll start to play with min bet if the existing player has a min bet out, or politely refrain until next shoe if person has multi unit bet out. If in my local area, I’ll thereafter play a very polite 1-2 type break even spread allowing the out of town visitor the ability to spread and capture positive EV without having to worry about a bobby twin. My counterpart will extend the same courtesies. At some point outside of the casino, we will have coffee, socialize as well as pick each other’s game apart.

If I sit down at a table with an AP unknown to me, once it’s clear that my new table mate is a competent AP, I will back off to a 1-2 type spread or simply leave and wait until table clears.

So, with a couple of recent incidents in mind, I wonder if others experience WTF moments with AP’s barging full steam ahead on their tables. Two recent incidents (one of them this past week) come to mind.

Playing heads up away from home and unknown to me, a local AP has back counted my game for about 15 minutes - sits down at a high count immediately spreading to 2x I don’t recall, and butchers my game and then leaves the table, Afterwards, the little shit had the audacity to text my picture to someone 300-400 miles away asking if they knew me. I get a text back asking if I’m in such and such a city, and if so, this asshole would like to meet me. I refer to the little shit in uncomplimentary terms and advise that I would relish the thought allowing me the opportunity to discuss “dining arrangements” with said individual. At a future encounter in a coastal city, numbnuts observed my play at a $100 min table where the power of the unknown regaled advanced system had been unleashed. At shoes conclusion, (he stayed out) I inquired to him if he enjoyed the show.

This past week, I may or may not have been back counted (suspect I was - back was to the door and I would not have seen him). He would have known that I was an AP. Numbnuts 2 sits down, spreads to 2 with big bets out and then spreads to 3. Reverts to min. The next shoe tanks and I decide on a well timed whiz coming back to an empty table. I played the remaining 3 or so hands counting down from where I left with RC-7.

About half hour later, Numbnuts 2 returns to the table, notes my min bet and “politely” says he will wait until the next shoe - got him - I say it’s a good time to go anyways as I leave with about a half shoe to go, and at this place, they leave the cards in the discard tray.

Anyone else experiencing these WTF problems?

I made a post several weeks ago along a similar theme. In my experience, most of these guys are members of Colin's cult. He teaches a slash and burn, fuck everyone else style of play. To them, there is no such thing as AP etiquette.

Curious as to why you would play at a break even spread when not playing at all guarantees you break even with no variance.

    Copy paste from my OP

Courtesy more than anything - $100 up or down - who cares.

Are casinos open in your part of the country - contemplating an early April trip - before Passover. You could join me - Change your name to Gronberg and disguise ourselves as Chassidim.

I see the same sort of thing with machine players.

When I go check out certain slots for plays and see another MP there playing of checking, I turn around and go somewhere else. These same screw***** will do the complete opposite around me knowing full well they won't find anything if I'm on a play and check anyways.

Casinos are open at 50% capacity with double vaccination and mask mandates. However, conditions are dismal. I haven't played a casino in my area since the pandemic began.

I recently played with a shameless card counter. This experience was awful. Whenever I spread to two hands, that guy spread to two hands using a much larger bet on each hand. The worst part was that whenever I played one hand, this guy always sat out. This annoyed me too much, so I used several tricks to push him out, but the result was that both the guy and me lost the session. If he wonged in with two simultaneous large bets, I kept splitting 10s, I eventually left the table to him alone.

The main problem is that there are not many blackjack tables open. Also, the open hours are not long enough for APs.

Appears Norm has an issue with the regaled FBM ASC, and certain references surrounding same - that would be my educated guess.

Odd, as Norm is famous for quoting the rules, and that's not in the rules. This is much more important than throttling a guy who posts wrong info 99.6% of the time.
