Why do ploppies play poor games?

The 6:5 tables are always crowded, when the 3:2 tables ten feet away have open spaces.

I see people playing the h17, when their betting level would allow them to play the s17 tables. My girlfriend thinks they just do it to feel like the BigShot at the low limit table. I think they are the BigIdiot, but I am grateful, because their crazy bets are free cover to me.

    Because they are clueless.

There a reason casinos are bright with blinking lights everywhere, noisy, busy carpeting, etc. To distract people and make them act like deer in the headlights.

There are plenty of times I've been at a carny game, someone walks up, puts money in the circle, and then asks the dealer, "how do you play this game?"

We'll play 6:5, CSM, H17, etc., tables under the right circumstances. Don't assume everyone at them are ploppies.

6 is bigger than 3, 5 is bigger than 2, so 6:5 must be better!

The usual justification is, "It really doesn't matter because you don't get blackjack that often."

I think you guys are over thinking it. Most poeple don't approach these games thinking "how much of an edge do I have". They show up and want to play where the cute dealer is etc.. Since we're on the subject of 6:5. I can ask a question without posting a whole new thread. What do you guys think about wonging 6:5, but only jumping in at the highest TC's? I mean you should be able to get big bets down and wong in and out practically heat free. Do you think applying this strategy can overcome the reduced BJ payoffs?
