Hey everyone. I am wondering if there is an algorithm to calculate when it is optimal for a dealer to shuffle the deck or shoe depending on the number of players at the table. I am concerned that my shoe may run out before the round is over and end up looking a fool.

I know it is very unlikely for a player to draw 5-6 cards alone and with each person being dealt to that probability would exponentially decrease, but still poses a threat. I started off trying to figure this problem by assuming the last sixteen cards could be 2,2,2,2, 3,3,3,3, 4,4,4,4 and 5,5,5,5. That'd cover two people including my own cards, but what if they do not follow strategy and just keep asking for cards? Ok, maybe 16 cards is safe to serve 2 players. Then with each deck you add, more cards would be required as a buffer because more low cards are available.

Anyway, that's my thought pattern. I want to provide the most penetration possible. What y'all got for me?
