Quick Question about Ace side count!

Currently I am playing mostly 6 deck using Hi-Lo. I am trying to switch to 2-decks

I think Ace side count for 2 deck is possible . But practically it is still kind of hard.

A book said to side count Aces using toes. However it is very hard to use toes.

Any one of you have any suggestions?

Switch to hi-opt +ace side count to play double decks. You don’t need any toes to count aces.

A "side effect" of that book was that at a Vegas casino, security was walking down the aisles, checking players' feet to identify counters. That's funny. Nonetheless and for other reasons, please don't use your feet. Use your brain it's much more productive. It doesn't matter which count system you use, side counting aces shouldn't be a problem, especially at double deck counting down 8-7-6-5.... Indeed letters can help as well as associating images with numbers but the best way to side count is simple. PRACTICE counting down aces with the real numbers! Eventually, it will become automatic and it will be so easy that you will have mental room to add a second side count if you wish.

Among those replies i think your way is the best

In my mind, I will have running count like

    1 2 3 ....

    until first ace out

    then 1A , -1A , -2A, 2A,....

    then second Ace out

    3B, 1B, 0B , -2B .....

    then third Ace out

    2C 4C -1C...

    then ...

    It works well!

    Smartest idea!

Each mind works differently and that's fine. As I said, letters can help and double deck is a piece of cake. If you end up playing 6-deck will you be able to handle -7 S, -2 U? Perhaps, but I guarantee you that you will have to make a significant adjustment. At least you made a small progress today and that's good.

I prefer a digital side count for aces reserving letters for intermediates - see FBM ASC Advanced.

OP got his quick fix and that's OK. Freightman University is Ivy League level as far as I am concerned.

My take is to go digital as far as your mind can take you, then expand your mind with other options, letters being one of them.

Seeing beyond the box requires one to expand their paradigms. It’s difficult for the many, a challenge for the few.

Curious to know if anyone has stories about the old Barbary Coast where they identified counters by looking at their feet.

They counted (or side counted) using stuff like toes in, toes out, heel up, heel down, ect. Imagine two counters at the same table with their feet positioned exactly the same away and changing their positions in sync with the count.

    That must have been hilarious.

Ass-side is trolling again. And as always, he is wrong.
