Hello dear forum,

just upfront please excuse that English is not my first language. But hopefully you will understand me and I can get some nice and honest answers to my questions..

so yeah I am new here at this forum and I was on the lookout for a place to ask a couple of questions regarding Vegas or any other place where you can play Blackjack. Here in Germany it is not possible to get an edge over the house because all casinos use csms. And because my dream was always to visit the USA at least once in my lifetime I thought I might couple both ideas. Play some BJ and see something of the US.
So I am planing to come for about 90 days with a tourist visa and do a little traveling combined with some weeks living in Vegas.

My plan when beeing in Vegas is to basically play a hit and run game as a maximizer. I dont wanna become a pro. I just wanna get some dollars from the casinos and leave after 90 days.
My bankroll is big enough for my maximizing plan which is: Count cards and when the True count gives me an edge just bet huge, maybe even a 1-100 spread. I dont care about getting banned because I leave the states anyways after a couple of weeks.

Still I have some questions. How long would you estimate I can play a doubledeck game where I throw in 500 bucks all the sudden. How many hands/shoes/minutes/hours will I be allowed to play there on average?
Second question, when I get backed off is it possible to just move to another casino? So basically I just wanna play the maximizing game in as much casinos as possible.

Any thoughts on how long my trip could last?
Maybe you even have some better ideas. Thank you so much in advance.

I recall a dd game I played 25 - 2x500 (only 2 hands at that spread) . I also recall LV Bear describing a single deck spread of $25 to a paltry $1000.

In Vegas, dd 5 to 500, you might last a hand or 2. In some joints, the critter will literally jump in the air, spread eagled, land on the table and orgasmically scream out - no more blackjack for you. Believe me, a critter humping chips is a sight to behold.

You’ll find tolerance for that sort of thing somewhere, but not likely in Vegas. Of course, it’s assumed that you’re betting with the count.

They are definitely more tolerant as they used to think 6:5 couldn’t be beat - but it can be. For shits and giggles, think I’ll sim that when I get home. 100-1 should beat it quite nicely. Right now, I’m in the middle of my gruelling 6 hour work week.

I recall a particular session where I was playing 6-5 (not realizing it was 6-5) said session literally devoid of blackjacks for several shoes until I hit one on a $100 bet getting only $120 back. General recollection was 2/3 of the way through a shoe, about true 2 or 3. Jammed up my top bet and blackjacks started raining paying 6-5. Was I think my red chip days playing either 5 or 10 min with 250 as top bet. Not much fuss and of all places at Tropicana.

I have been playing BJ on the side for 7 years and I am at the point where I get backed off at some place every other trip. My advice is to reconsider your plan. Once you become known, your life becomes a little bit more difficult, although not impossible. If I were to do it again, I would have tried to fly under the radar a bit longer. But whatever you do, you will get found out eventually. Since you are playing 90 days, you might be able to get away without incident.

1. Don’t do a crazy spread. You will be instantly backed off, flyered, and unable to play in Vegas for the whole week. I have been flyered in other casino towns, not Vegas, and it’s not fun. You go to another casino, and get backed off before you reach the table. That was for $100-$800, doing something like $10-$1000 right off the bat will cause more problems I assume. Not saying you can never do $10-$1000, but I doubt being new, you will be able to determine correctly when to pull it off.
2. Feel out the action the casino can take. As mentioned before, I tried $100-$800 at a casino that is sweaty. I ignored this, and I got flyered. Try to bet around the same money as other people in the casino. If everyone is betting chump change, go to a different casino!
3. In Vegas, you really want to play 2-3 shoes, not double deck, and go to the next casino. Or if you show your max bet, go to the next casino after the shoe. That is hit and run. You show a little piece of what you are capable of, most people will not bother reviewing your play (but it can happen) and flyering you.
4. Vegas sucks, why don’t you consider a different place to play where they are not as eager to look for people. You can read through previous posts to see what other places are like. You can rent a car, play a couple hours in Casino A, drive 10 min to the next casino, play a couple hours, drive 45 min to the next casino, play a couple hours.
5. Don’t play rated. And you have a perfect excuse, you are a foreigner. You will get hassled for a card, don’t get one!

Avincow - suppose you're not a foreigner. What do you usually say?

Also what does "flyered" mean exactly? Does that me if you show a player's card, or ID then some note pops up on the pit computer that you're not allowed to play? Or does it mean that cameras will recognize your face? Sorry if this is a stupid question. But I'm trying to figure what exactly people mean when they say getting "flyered" or "databased".

Definitely keep Vegas on your itinerary. There is still money to be made at the BJ tables, plenty of tourist attractions, plenty of drinking to be done, and there might be other gambling opportunities to spice things up for you. One time I went, a casino had a $500 loss rebate. So I got to play slots for one of the few times in my life. Plus there are a lot of video poker progressives, so maybe there will be a situation where you can play that for a few hours.
