    Spanish 21 Locations S17 vs H17 w/ re Double

    Hi folks,

My first post here. I been playing standard BJ for years and do well with Hi Lo. Not a professional but more recreation/hobby. I got back last month from a two week stay on the Vegas Strip. What a nice run I had with double deck.

I’m looking to try out Spanish 21. I have read the first few chapters of Katarina’s book via the free online version and will read the rest of it when it arrives from Amazon tomorrow.

I live on Long Island and I’m curious as to the locations that you have been to in the last 90 days or so that offer SP21 and what are the rules.

The 2 biggest seem to be either the

    S17 that doesn’t offer redoubling

    H17 that does offer redoubling

If you could please comment anywhere in the U.S. that you recently been to that offers the game and the conditions I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks so much! Have a great weekend!

PS: Maybe I’ll head to FL to chase Eta. Could be a cat.1 perhaps.

As far as I know redoubling doesn’t exist on the east coast.

True. It's a west coast phenomenon.

I believe every casino in Atlantic City has Spanish 21, and believe all the rules are identical (S17, no redoubling). Some dealers may not know that 6-7-8 and five-card bonuses are paid after splitting, but the floor should know (and in the two cases I've been involved with where they didn't know, I requested they speak to a supervisor, and I did eventually get the bonus payout). Note that some (Tropicana for some tables, for example) now use continuous shufflers for SP21 as well as blackjack.
