I'm embarrassed about winning this week

I played blackjack for 3 days in Tunica and was consistently about about $300 or $400 behind. Sometimes I would almost get even again only to start losing again. I am a card counter and think I'm pretty good although I don't have much of a bankroll.

On my last night I couldn't find a seat at the blackjack table and decided to play a slot machine for $20 to pass the time until a seat opened up. after about 5 minutes I hit it for $900. I ended the trip with about a $600 profit but I feel a little embarrassed about winning it on slots since I'm suppose to be a blackjack player.

Reality says that you should only be embarrassed because you played a sucker game (slots). BUT--------------I sometimes do it too.

As long as you touch the machines first to find the hottest one.

Did you use a Players Card on the Slot? Hopefully they think you're just another Gambler now!

Yeah, I always use a players card. I never pay for a room or food and have a big supply of t-shirts and other casino gifts.

If I had nothing else to do, I'd backcount a BJ table in the hopes that someone would get up at the right time, rather than put money in a slot machine, just to kill time.

dont play just to play either, find the best conditions, ie.uncrowded games; your post leads me to believe you wouldve jumped in had a seat opened up, which is not the right way to go about it

I only play 1 and 2 decks so I couldn't backcount. I never risk over $20 on a slot machine and usually only once a trip. Sometimes I get free slot play for $10 or $20 and I run it through once and cash out.

On my way home my car started making a racket and today I spent $1400 on a clutch and a few other things that needed fixing. Easy come easy go, right?

Actually hi-limit slots can be beaten if you have a very substantial bank roll and also figure in the huge comps you receive. The edge on some machines can be as high as 9% not figuring in generous comps.

MY wife is a huge slot player, and I am a BJ player and do some 100% VP and some NL, it works good in that I get to enjoy the freebies along with her while freely doing my AP BJ thing and hoping she breaks even or wins big,,,of course at times she loses big, but never has that been as big a loss as has been the big wins. (not yet).

As was said before, the only thing I would be embarrased about is not playing at an advantage... Congrats on the win though.

If you enjoy slots I would highly suggest taking a look at VP. I have been playing BJ for about 6-7mo. and came across VP as a possible advantage situation last month. Given my present bankroll I have interestingly come across situations where VP was capable of having a higher advantage already.
