Blackjack tournaments

A local casino has a blackjack tournament . The format is 10 hands 5k in starting chips. The winner is who has the most chips at the end of the contest . It lasts for 6 hours . Any suggestions ,tips or strategies from anyone who has played in a format like this ? THANKS

This is typical of what is called an accumulation format. Look for posts by me containing the word "tournament" and look for advice on similar formats.

In a nutshell:
- Try to figure out what the required chip total will be (your most important task). One way to do this is to play late session and observe the other scores.
- Bet the maximum until you reach the goal or bust out trying.
