Thread: Losing the Count - Confusing Dealer's Up Card with Down Card

    Dealers, as all of us, are creatures of habit and if you determine at the start of your session how they turn their hold card (on the right or left?) then you can be sure it will always(?) occur this way thereby removing the concern.

    I agree that this is the procedure most casinos I have been in use. Also, below is a good video for folks who may lose the running count. At about the 2 min mark, he discusses issues with dealer's up v. down card mix up.

    Thanks everyone, I made the adjustment and I am a little more accurate thanks to counting the up-card right away.

    By the way, does anyone ever try to estimate their actual player's advantage (what percent of each dollar wagered is winnings)?


    I estimate my advantage (~ 4 years of KO counting) is approximately 1.2% (about 250 hours, about $220,000 wagered).
