I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the casinos are simply using this pandemic as an excuse to increase the house edge.

The NY Times article I posted says they got a new washing, cleaning of chips system that gets coated and stays infection free for some time.

I don't understand why someone is allow to use a laptop in Texas Hold'em Poker and not in Blackjack. Next time, when I play poker I will input everyone's hand into the computer and get the optimal playing decision from it. Casinos are asshats and asshats make excuses.

Very simple. it's not the casino's money in poker.

That's surely a part of it. Also, Texas is an odd duck. It is in some ways the heart of gambling and poker -- indeed that's what Texas hold'em is named after. Yet, they don't like casinos.

Face up games are good for the AP. They move faster (RPH) and reveal more info. Touching the cards is an unnecessary pain in the.......especially with all the newbies that have to be instructed how to give hit signals, etc.

Exactly. Far better for an AP for both reasons.

Never happened to me. Only have a handful of short counting sessions there though.

Did have a ploppie flat betting the $100 table max one day and was getting the evil eye from one of the female asian pit critters.

Let's not forget the Double Deck games at Virgin River and Casablanca casinos in Mesquite. Managed by South Point(Sweat Point). I had the honor of being backed off immediately on my second trip there.

    Cool chipless blackjack?

I think this is all heading towards completely chipless blackjack. Everybody would use a card for transactions. It would be the end of AP's also. Sad to say but true. Would depend on if the casinos want to invest the kind of money that it would take to do that initially.

I don't think so. Players like handling chips and this isn't going to be a long term problem.

I saw chipless cardless blackjack few years back and they still being used in at least one of my local store, it was called MindPlay. I see couple variations of chipless cardless blackjack, one of them is in post #15. I think casinos would save the money to use the machines over the cost of paying dealers. As we see the degenerate gamblers don't care if the 6/5 bj or csm.

I notice these game uses continuous shuffle machines (CSM). So it wouldn't be possible to beat the game with card counting.
