But when your casino is empty and everyone around you is 3/2 you're an idiot if you leave it 6/5
    their management is incompetent.
casinos cut off their noses to spite their faces all the time.
You are not being fair. They probably eliminated the need and cost of surveillance but in any case, last time I visited, a few months ago, they had started offering 3/2 8 deck games.

You're thinking too narrow. First, surveillance is required by Gaming regs. Second, there's MUCH more money lost to employee theft and cheaters than to counters. Those are the main reasons for surveillance.

I agree. I meant the need to worry about card counters is somewhat diminished. I just park in Binions when I go downtown.

as someone else pointed out surveillance barely deals with card counters. winning players are a rounding error compared to theft. yes the worry about card counters is diminished. so are the losing players who think they can count cards.

about time- who would think a casino with only 6:5 blackjack surrounded by 3:2 everywhere else would be a horrible idea in a place that offers nothing else to draw anyone in.
like i said a lot of casino management is beyond incompetent.

No, but you can stop at bar or restaurant and they usually do it or you can hand it to pit, sit down, take your time, play one hand and leave.
