    Splitting 7's vs 8

Just reading up on some multi-deck deviations. On page 259 of Professional blackjack, for a DAS game, we can split 7s against an 8 as "5/19*"

    * indicates a reversal of the meaning. Split only if the count per deck is less than the number.

Does this mean that we split 7s vs an 8 at TC of 5 up to TC of 19?

    Hit 7s vs an 8 at TC<5
Split 7s vs an 8 at TC 5 to TC 19
    Stand 7s vs an 8 if TC<19

    Is this correct?

If surrender is available we would surrender 7s vs 8 at 11. (Page 261)

I can clarify anything that my appear confusing. From what you are able to understand, do you believe what I have typed is correct? Or am I misunderstanding something?

    Thanks for the help.

    5/19
You sure that’s not for S17/H17?
