Wave, it all boils down to this possible example:

You have 10k with you to play with which represents 10% of your overall bankroll and in the very first shoe that you play you lose 1k with a deck yet remaining to be played before the yellow card appears, with a TC still at +3 and you quit the shoe and go to lunch across the street. Three-quarters of an hour later you are ready again to get right back at it firing away. You now have 9k with you, and other than you quitting in a STRONG position (a bad move) nothing at all has changed (other than the price of your lunch) and that is why your idea belongs to the yellow voodoo board. You can carry on with all of your theories as long as you want but none of this stubbornness of yours is going to change the fact that the game continues until you either quit the game for good or die. Everything in between is just a game in progress.

@Drunk and BoSox: Sincerely, thank you for your responses, but neither response explains why there are no differences in Hourly EV and 1K Unit Bankroll ROR between 50, 100, 150, 1M, and 10M shoe bankrolls. If there were differences in Hourly EV and 1K Unit Bankroll ROR, I would never have brought this up in the first place. Hourly EV and 1K Unit ROR are both standardized measures...Hourly EV is Hourly EV, 1K Unit ROR is 1K Unit ROR, 60 MPH is 60 MPH, one pound is one pound.

Are you saying that Hourly EV and 1K ROR are not standardized units of measure? The curve says otherwise.

    A pound of feathers.

Gold is typically measured in troy ounces, which is 12 oz/lb.
A pound of feathers is 16 (avoirdupois) oz.

Cute, but that would then be an apples to oranges comparison. Change gold to paper, which weighs more a pound of paper or a pound of feathers....in an apples to apples comparison a pound is a pound.

My response wasn't meant to be cute. It is fact. Gold is measured in a different weight system (troy vs. avoirdupois), even though the unit name is the same.

It's like asking where is a Kroner more, in Denmark or Sweden? Same word, different measure, with the Danish Kroner being worth almost 50% more. And you're correct about a pound of feathers and paper weighing the same.

I’m going to have to agree with Wave on this one. You can measure two items on the same weight scale. There’s no law against that. Who cares how gold is typically weighted? That wasn’t the point.

I get it, Wave, your point is they weight the same, so this was a trick question after all, and I got it wrong.

Good question. I’ll be more careful next time I answer one of your questions.

Anyone who wants to weigh gold properly does. You can also calculate your speed on the highway in furlongs/fortnight, but that's not the standard and won't mean anything to anyone.

Please take your trolling back to the urinal forum where you belong, Bob 21.

No! It is not an apples to apples comparison. Granted, there is no difference in weight between 16 oz. of gold versus 16 oz. of feathers. Saying it is an apples to apples comparison is saying that all true 4’s are the same, all true 5’s are the same, etc. etc.

Feathers are light and bulky, as in no real substance, such as may be found in some true 4’s lacking strength and endurance, diluted by a heavy proportion of intermediate cards. Physical space occupied is excessive To its weight, indicating a lack of substance. Gold, however is heavy and dense, occupying a very small physical space in relation to its weight. True 4’s or 5’s consisting of gold are worthy of your max bet. Identical true counts diluted by feathers are not.

I won’t be hurt being hit by a pound of feathers dropped from 100 feet, but I will be hurt by a pound of gold dropped from the same distance.

Hmm, perhaps time for a Talmudic discussion.

Please reread Wave’s post where’s he’s comparing the weight of gold and feathers at the same weight. He was trying to make a point that you obviously missed, or you understood but just wanted to troll.

Btw, the last time I was posting here, I thought you had me on ignore. Sounds like you need to put me back on ignore. Lol

Freightman, then if true4 is different at different penetration levels, then how significantly do you increase a true4 bet if the true4 occurred after 1/2 deck in a DD game with 1.5 penetration and one with 1/2 deck remaining?
