In a good DD game...seeing the bottom card and cutting out a 2-6, or cutting in a 10 or ace can be a very good boost definitely!
And once I started looking for it...you can see it quite often surprisingly. Obviously 1st base is best.
And I always try to establish myself with the table as the "lucky cutter" so that I can control as much as possible.
If you can get that 10 or ace up towards the first few rounds...it's definitely worth it to throw a bigger bet out there too...works as cover at the same time, betting bigger in the beginning of the shoe.
Just seeing the burn card doesn't help very much, that should be obvious. I never ask.

Your two statements are contradictory. If you see the burn card, and it’s a low card, you can start your RC at +1, a big card and you can start your RC at -1, the same as when you cut a card in or out.
I don’t remember if it’s OK or elsewhere where there is a custom where they show the burn card to all players. I have also played at casinos where the number of burn cards varies according to the top card they pull out, a 6 means 6 burn cards.
Probably 50% of casino procedures are nonsensical, follow some old, no longer relevant tradition, and hurt their bottom line by wasting time (eg., stripping and shuffling cards before putting in ASM).
If you ask a casino dealer or manager why they do something, probably less than 1% would have any idea. Don, am I being too generous with my estimate? :-)
I know you are experienced but think Bosox is right on this one. I understand Don knew what ZeeBar meant v said intrinsically but a "bust card" means a face or 10 in common parlance. As you always hear the ploppies or civilians state when you play a hand and get a 10 and the dealer makes his hand after............"Ahhh...you took the dealer's BUST card!"
But I guess any card that would break the dealer's hand can be called a "bust card"....LOL
