    After reading through all the EV tables you’ll notice some deviations for H17 vs S17 aren’t worth much at all and likely increase variance. A7 vs 2, 11 vs A, A8 vs 6 come to mind. You’re going to do these deviations anyway at +1 or higher counts.

    The surrender options are important. In H17 you must remember to surrender 15, 8/8, and 17 vs A. Stand 17 vs Ace is an index IIRC for H17 at higher counts.
