How to not give up ID after pitboss inquires [unrated]

Guy gets backed off next to me using a 2.5-1 spread on $50 DD. I'm using a 7-1 basically but with cover play (like not dropping in neutral counts). Was planning on leaving, was on my 10th flat bet hand of $100 then this happened

Pitboss asks, hey you've been here a while. Let me give you free comps. I respond nah, I'm leaving tomorrow. He says it's okay, you can use it when you return. To which I say, too much work. My I'd is in my bag and I dont want to pull it out. To which he replied, it's okay. Here's a notepad. Write your name and DOB.

I had a player card from years ago. Am I done the next time I return (I plan on playing way shorter). And what could I have done to not give it up. False name wouldnt work. If I just say no and walk, that might piss him off. Thoughts?

Ps: heard in passing, one PB says to the other, should back him off when he loses

And why this is a problem? He obviously needs your name to look you up in the database. All you have say is "No, thanks" and look the other way. Conversation is over. No need to explain anything to anyone.

Because I didnt have a logical answer to denying free comps after I entertained the first line of questioning. With my first no, he persisted with another Q.

As for pissing him off, I think if he was gonna back me off, he wouldve done it a lot sooner since I kinda tombstoned it and my play didnt change for the X hours I was there. Therefore I just gave him my name (which he could search for me, I made a player card many years ago)

Obv in hindsight, I was 10 minute shy of optimal playtime.

Why wouldn't you just give them a fake name?

I'd get the hell out of there is someone is getting backed off at 2.5-1

I either tell them I only come to Vegas for work and my job pays for everything

Or I ask them if they can make me a card without my lisense as I left it in the roof/safe whatever

So either they leave me alone or I get comps under a fake name

Well if I gave a fake name - he will remember me the next time I come back. And let's just say, my face is very memorable. I'll literally make him ban me out of spite.

As for the license trick - I get ID since i look very young. They know i have my DL on me, so that's not an option.

I was planning on leaving right after the other guy got backed off. But literally a few minutes too slow. Was already flat betting and proceeding to leave without cashing out.

If they get pushy I just tell them I don’t really feel like having dozens of casino employees I don’t know having access to my home address, or that you’ve had identity theft problems before, there’s some chance they could get hacked or something and it’s not worth that risk for a free hot dog.

They will usually give you a name, put your picture to it and track you. Facial recognition software is getting very accurate.

In your situation, I would have scribbled a common name and a large city. Left it at that.

How would he know it's a fake name?

Correct me if I'm wrong, seriously I need to know. But I assumed if he looks up such name. Sees the face/name doesnt match with mine. Then he knows I lied. Which will lead to unsavory outcomes.

Unless saying I'm John Doe works. And I can continue playing (as long as he doesnt check my ID/DL)

There are a few dozen “Jones” or “Smith” in New York or LA. Don’t be paranoid about it. He has better things to do than to try to identify you. It’s much less trouble to back you off or take counter measures (Lower penetration to 35%, flat bet you, etc.).

Don't use "Smith." It is the most common name in USA, and they will think it is a made up alias. Use "Johnson" as it is the 2nd most common surname in USA.
