G Man
What is your problem with people wonging in? Thats one of the tools that APs have. The only thing is, I wouldn't wong into a table if there was a "counter" already playing. THAT would be stupid. But it would be easy to spot the counter while I was back-counting.
Hmmm...EITS/pit crew notices a player that complains when other players want to play on positive counts, but does not complain when other players want to play on negative counts...it does not take a genius to figure that one out. I never complain when another player wants to play...I might get irritated, but I keep it to myself.
Personally, if the count is highly positive, especially towards the end, I will usually say to he player, "Would you mind very much if we just finished this shoe?" I think it's a very natural thing for the seated player to say, and the great majority of the time, the arriving player says, "Of course not," and waits.
Don
Don you are right. I have done that many times and not a problem. The thing I dislike is someone standing behind me and counting down a deck when I am doing all the work. It just leaves a bad taste. Plays a couple of hands and as soon as the count goes negative they are gone.
