The darkest casino I was ever in is the Santa Fe Station in LV 10-12 years ago. One area was so dark I actually had trouble seeing my cards. It was also the grubbiest casino I have ever seen. Pictures from a Google search today appear much brighter and cleaner than I remember.
Last year, I sat next to a table with a drunk couple swearing loudly in three languages. I joined their conversation (mostly in English) and had a ball.
My answer to the OP's question: No, a casino's ambiance doesn't matter to me.

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
