I feel like this is a dumb question, but just wanted to ask it anyway. If I have a replenishable bankroll, but I
plan to bring a max of 10 top bets per playing session, would this be a good method, or in terms of the math, how would this effect it?

10 tops bets are not enough. What if you are down a few large bets and then get a hand where you split and re-split with doubles? If you split 4 times and double on each you could need 8 top bets on a single hand. You do not want to be in a situation where you miss a double on a 10 or 11 vs a dealer stiff in a plus count with your top bet out. If the dealer then pulls a 21 (I am talking from experience here ) you are going to need more chips to continue playing in the plus count, as you never want to leave a table when you have the advantage.

As the above posts mentions you are potentially depriving yourself in TWO main scenarios by being under bankrolled for that session...
LOST EV - Unable to continue playing in a positive count. Not able to capitalize due to insufficient funds.
DECREASED EV - Missed opportunities on double downs and splitting scenarios. (Greatly effecting the math. Can wipe out any edge if there is one - Very Fast)

Definitely need more than 10 max bets. I've lost 22 max bets in a single shoe on two or three different occasions. Now my definition of a max bet is whatever you bet on one hand. Example: my max bet in one scenario was 2x500, so I consider one max bet as $500. Lost $11,200 in that shoe. And I had one time I was betting 2x300 and lost 7K in a single shoe. That's a little more than 23 bets. I feel like those type of extreme results are pretty rare and are few and far in between... but they do happen. So just make sure you come to the table financially prepared for anything.
The two particular situations I’m referring to did in fact lead to the inevitable back off/counter measure. But I’ve had several other sessions with similar swings (maybe not particularly in one shoe, but maybe one session) and have still been allowed to play. My post was not to talk about heat or back offs. I was just trying to illustrate the type of variance you sometimes will inevitably encounter.
Ditto... one time I started bringing less than 1% trip ROR only to get that hell shoe in which I lost 100 units wiped out and had to leave a TC +5 shoe...
Bottom line stop guessing and get CVCX.
That means I pretty much have to keep my trip role in my pocket at all times for a weekend trip to Vegas.
