Small correction: math _is_ immortal. It's valid for eternity.

Correct. Math is why I think full time AP’s are abnormally talented, a great mixture of talent and mental/emotional make up. The argument always is “believe in the math” and “math shows you have an edge”. However, math is immortal, has unlimited bankroll, perfect play with all correct deviation. It faces no heat, no expenses, no distractions, no fatigue, etc, etc. and after all that, it gives you a slight edge.

We are human, we make mistakes, we get distracted, we get fatigued, we have bankroll limitations, we face heat and backoffs, we have to deal with ploppies, we can’t play perfect all the time using all the deviations.

After all that, how much of an edge do we have?

My take is that Z ought to do one of two things: maintain his current stakes, trust the math, and simply play the game to the best of his ability, without any concern whatsoever for the voodoo nonsense that he engages in, or ... reduce his stakes to the point where losing the money doesn't mean anything to him, and he can play according to the above.

There is an ENORMOUS difference between saying one plays differently because of cover and one plays differently because he has lost three big bets in a row, and therefore, one is terrified to put the fourth bet out. Lumping those justifications into the same rationale is just plain foolish. They aren't at all comparable.

Z needs to determine which ways of playing are normal for an AP looking for longevity and which are voodoo nonsense not worthy of a two-year-old.

Thanks, Don, I will remember your words when those moments come. These days, I only play about 3-6 days a month, on a trip somewhere.

IMHO if you don't want to be an AP it would be better to find another way to entertain yourself since playing without an advantage can be quite costly

it's a very big world out there - gigantic - you could surely find other things you would enjoy

Why is everyone jumping on Zee's case. He is doing just fine playing the way he does. If I remember correctly over the last 5 or 6 years he hasn't lost any money at all, but has quite impressive wins for his playing level. I believe Zee reported he is in the black for this year also, but not as much as other years. He isn't losing any money, so don't tell him to do something else. He enjoys blackjack.

And if he is winning, he must be doing something right. He is making enough of the correct plays to offset any occasional voodoo play.

He is doing just fine, just like you are doing just fine living where you live.

Both of you post stories about your style of play (or life in the tundra). While YOU may think it's fine, obviously others don't. If you don't want comments and/or criticism about it, don't post the absurd stories.

Why do people even respond to Zee at this point? He asks for replies...but no matter what anyone says...he comes back with no, no that isn't what I meant blah blah... You can never help him, he thinks he is smarter than anyone here. He drives traffic on this site, but at what cost? A lot of us we want to help people, so we engage...but he has been doing the same thing for how many years now here, uggg.

Can you even see the arrogance in your post?

“You can never help him”....maybe YOU cannot help me but lots of others have helped me and Zi have credited them.

“He thinks he is smarter than anyone here” and you, never having met me, know what I think? Wow, here you are saying you know what forum members think!

”He drives traffic on this site but at what cost”....and it’s your job to calculate that or are you telling forum administration how to do their job?

If I bother you, the answer is simple. Just ignore my threads and posting on them. How old are you? The arrogance and immaturity makes me think you might be 18.
