When I say I have a problem with variance, I mean that I don’t want to lose too much in any one session, one trip etc. Losing $2000 in a session or about $4k on a trip is about all I can handle. This, sometimes means that I walk away from a good game or cut short a trip.
Its why I call myself a recreational player. Other than being on this forum, I don’t spend any time over BJ, no practice, no counting down decks, no simulations, etc. The purpose, for me, is to enjoy my retired life and that does not go with losing much more than what I stated above. I don’t want to risk the stress and bad mood that engulfs me when I lose so I forego some opportunities.
