Thread: Do you split your 8's?

    Do you split your 8's?

i need help on strategy i need someone to stimulate this game it is two decks out of a schute and the pen is between fifty per cent and 85%. you can only double down with 10 or 11 and aces count as 1 or 11 like usual unless you want to double in which case you can't with like ace plus 9 is always twenty. all other rules are standard rules i think. it is a $25 minimum and i spread all the way to seventy five if i'm feeling lucky and the count warrants it > 1 truth count. but not always for heat considerations. please advice?

the dealer tells me to play consistently but i'm not so sure. i haven't purchased any books because they cost money but my uncle told me only split my 8 pairs if i'm feeling lucky. if you're not lucky you're not going to win, right guys? so do you never split your 8's, sometimes split your 8's, or always split your 8's? the poll is private so answer there please and explain in this thread here. like i said i only do it when i'm feeling lucky and the count warrants it. sometimes i don't though for heat or if i have my max bet of $75 out there. do you guys think the added risk is worth it, i mean your doubling your bet and you can lose them quit easily. you wouldn't double down with two eights so why would you split them?

ive been card counting for many years now. due to my aggressive play i've been backed off 3 times now in the last 7 years. my casino is only 3 hours away so it's an easy drive to do every day. i employ a strict `quit when ahead` strategy, as soon as im up $300 i immediately leave the casino to go home even if the schute is allegedly "hot"

In the absence of surrender, which sounds like it’s part of the rule set, yes, split 8’s. Split all the time, other than some index exceptions.

Even with surrender, I would still split at -3, and I have nice success with this.

I split eights once. The casino confiscated my scissors.

I read about this method on the interwebs thing how to side count aces with your testicles. Never could see how it works, but am sure there is an index for splitting 8.

The other factors is if the ASM is in demon or margarita mode. Forget about splitting if on demon mode. Try doubling.

On a side note, I was wondering if I should join the players club? The table game gift of the week is a rice cooker. Christmas is coming up and I can avoid shopping with all these gifts.

But I have one problem. I was placed in Michigan Security Network database for back counting a red chip game. Does the tribes out west subscribe to this network?

I guess it's a precautionary thing. I started a thread about what Table Games should I try next and it unexpectedly delved into Posters hurling insults at each other and it was closed unexpectedly. :/ I guess RS is nicely saying to not start turning his innocent thread nasty by insulting each other.

Testicle method is an advanced play. Probably shouldn't talk about that publicly.

My local casinos used to be 50/50 on demon/margarita mode. But now they're using demon mode more and more often. How am I supposed to win on roulette when margarita mode is disabled?
