    Then is it advisable to play two hands even when head-to-head to increase SCORE? That would contradict everything I've read on this well-covered topic.

    It's the SPREAD.

    Turn off Freeze bets and set the desired RoR. Let CVCX do its job.

    I think I'm not asking this right, somehow, so let me try it this way: When I let CVCX do its job, it tells me that I'm better off by every measure (SCORE, N0, ROR) playing 2 hands in any positive count, regardless whether I'm head to head.

    This runs counter to everything I've read on this topic (when the count is + and you're head-to-head, you're supposed bet less money per round that if playing 2 hands, but bet it all one one spot to conserve cards.)

    So I'm trying to resolve the apparent conflict between this well-established playing strategy and the results I'm seeing from CVCX.

    CVCX doesn't support switching between hands and also backcounting at the same time. That also alters the common thinking. This requires CVData.
